September 26-27, 2024 – ̨ÍåÍøºìCEOÏÄóÞæÃÐÔ°®ÊÓƵÁ÷³ö’s School of Business, Accountancy and Hospitality Management (SBAHM) hosted a two-day Finex Educators Training Program (FETP). The said activity was sponsored by the FINEX Research Development Foundation Inc. and Capitals Market Development Foundation Inc., and was held at ̨ÍåÍøºìCEOÏÄóÞæÃÐÔ°®ÊÓƵÁ÷³ö Global Center. The event provided faculty members with valuable insights into the world of finance and business.
Mr. Roberto Borromeo (2009 Finex Past President and Director/Board Advisor of BPM Vision Philippines, Inc.) served as the key trainer for the first day. He introduced FETP sponsors, outlined the FETP course, and delivered an in-depth presentation on good governance, business valuation, and fundamental investment analysis. The second session featured Atty. Eleanor Rivera, (CPA lawyer and independent governor for the Market Board of the Philippine Dealing and Exchange Corporation) who discussed the fundamental concepts of the capital market, fixed income securities market, and the regulation of the securities market. Mr. Mark Frederick Visda, (Assistant Vice President for the Capital Markets Development Division of the Philippine Stock Exchange, Inc.,) conducted the third session where he provided an overview of the equities market, company disclosures, investing procedures, and recent developments in the Philippine Stock Exchange. The first day concluded with an engaging case analysis session, where participants worked in small groups to outline the key takeaways of the case.
On the second day, Mr. Franklin Ysaac, (2004 FINEX Past President and banking consultant) shared his expertise on bank risks and wealth management. Ms. Maria Victoria Españo (Independent Director for Altenergy Holdings Corporation and a Member of ̨ÍåÍøºìCEOÏÄóÞæÃÐÔ°®ÊÓƵÁ÷³ö Board of Trustees), followed with a comprehensive discussion on risk, risk management frameworks, and mitigating their impact on organizations and individuals. She also explored the transition from a VUCA-BANI world to the current business and finance landscape.
The final session was led by Mr. Bertrand Indiongco (Vice President and Head – Corporates and Structured Finance for PhilRatings) where he provided insights into credit ratings, the rating process, and the significance of credit ratings for businesses.
The FETP offered participants with an interactive and informative experience, featuring renowned experts from the business and finance industry.
